As Republicans in State Government look to purge Medicaid of some 3/4 million of the lowest income Hoosiers off the rolls of H.I.P. (Healthy Indiana Plan) within the next 3-4 years, providers will likely do even more to favor higher income populations. When Covid subsidies were phased out, many practices stopped taking new Medicaid patients.

As Governor Mike Braun, the new FSSA head and the GOP look to again attempt to add work requirement rigmarole and quarterly recertification paperwork requirements to get clients caught up chasing and creating documents, missing deadlines, delayed postal service delivery and having to navigate glitchy and archaic technological hurdles while tax resources are diverted into privatized companies to whom the verification process is farmed out unto, hundreds of thousands of the most vulnerable people in the state will once again face the stress and diversion, a lapse and lack of care.

This is the price of the worship of unfettered wealth accumulation and a refusal to adapt, as every other modern nation has, to create a system which sets need above greed. It is about keeping a small circle of US, while driving THEM off the edge of the flat Earth.
